Scléip an tSamhraidh – Irish Language Summer Camp in Co. Clare
When Gaelcholáiste an Chláir was founded in 1993, parents felt it would be a great idea to organise a summer event for incoming students to help them ease into the spoken Irish environment. As a result, they decided to establish a Summer Camp to support this goal.
The very first camp was held in 1996 and lasted for one week. It took place in Gaelcholáiste an Chláir, using the hall at Ennis Community College. It was organised by the Parents' Committee and proved to be a great success.
Over time, the camp grew in size and popularity, eventually outgrowing its original location. It was then relocated to Gaelcholáiste an Chláir, where it continues to take place annually.
